Hello, and thank you for being here.
If you’ve found your way to this corner of the internet, chances are you or someone you care about is navigating the complex waters of postpartum anxiety. Maybe you’re searching for answers, validation, or simply a place where your experience is understood. Whatever brought you here, I’m glad you’re here.
Who Am I?
I’m Alexis, and I’m both a mother who has walked this path and someone deeply committed to bridging the gap between lived experience and scientific understanding. After my own journey with postpartum anxiety, I realized how little we talk about this condition—despite it affecting up to 15% of new mothers.
My background spans teaching, business and marketing, but my passion lies in creating content that matters. Through my TikTok platform and now this website, I combine personal vulnerability with research-backed information to address what I see as a critically underrepresented topic in maternal mental health.
What Is Postpartum Anxiety?
While postpartum depression gets more attention, postpartum anxiety is equally real and equally valid. Unlike the general worry that comes with new parenthood, postpartum anxiety involves persistent, overwhelming fears that interfere with daily life. It might look like:
- Constant worry about your baby’s safety, even when they’re fine
- Racing thoughts that won’t quiet, especially at night
- Physical symptoms like heart palpitations or difficulty breathing
- Intrusive thoughts about harm coming to your child
- Avoiding certain activities or places due to fear
- Feeling like you need to be “perfect” to keep your baby safe
The important thing to understand? These symptoms aren’t a reflection of your capabilities as a mother. They’re signs of a treatable condition with biological, psychological, and social factors.
Why This Website Exists
I created this space because I believe in the power of both science and story. Too often, discussions about maternal mental health exist in silos—either purely clinical or purely anecdotal. But healing happens when we understand both the “why” behind what we’re experiencing and know we’re not alone in experiencing it.
Here, you’ll find:
- Evidence-based information about postpartum anxiety
- Real stories from real mothers
- Practical coping strategies
- Myth-busting content
- Resources for partners, family members, and friends
- A community where your experience matters
What You Can Expect
This isn’t about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. Postpartum anxiety is nuanced, and recovery looks different for everyone. What I can promise is honest, research-backed content delivered with compassion and understanding.
Whether you’re here seeking information for yourself, supporting someone you love, or simply curious to learn more, my goal is to create content that validates your experience while empowering you with knowledge.
You’re Not Alone
If you’re reading this while struggling with postpartum anxiety, I want you to know: what you’re feeling is real, it’s not your fault, and it’s treatable. You’re not broken, you’re not failing, and you’re definitely not alone.
This is just the beginning of our conversation. I’m honored to be part of your journey, whether you’re seeking answers, healing, or simply understanding.
